AI is often presented as a matter for large companies, with large budgets and large teams. Small companies have as much to gain. SaaStr, the community for business software founders, generates more than $10 million in revenue with three people and more than twenty AI systems that handle sales, customer follow-up and events.
AppsTech Labs is a small team. Four of our colleagues are AI: William answers visitors on this site, and Maya, Nora and Elias follow up with our clients. For a team of our size, three practices matter most.
Give the AI a proven method. Our AI colleagues answer from our client guides, written by the people who designed each product. If the method is unclear, the AI repeats the confusion and speeds it up. The method comes first.
Start with what slips through the cracks. In a small team, follow-ups are the first thing to slip: past clients, contacts who went quiet, a report sent without a next step. That is where our AI colleagues started. Every Initium evaluation now gets a follow-up.
Read everything at first. Each AI colleague began with a review period in which a person approved every email before it was sent. We still read and score their work every day. The reading gets lighter as the quality improves.
We develop these tools ourselves, because designing AI-powered solutions is what we do. Running our own company on them is the test they pass before a client sees them.
Each colleague's role is described in How AppsTech Labs runs on its own AI. SaaStr's figures are from saastr.ai/agents.
